Chi Sao

The new DVD's on Chi Sao are almost ready.  Anything good takes time to finish right.   Just did a basic Chi Sao seminar for Sifu Ken DeMile up in Auburn Washington at his new school..  It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed meeting his students as well as others who attended.  A little tiresome since my back is still a problem.  But everyone seemed to enjoy the scientific approuch to learning Chi Sao and were surprised at how quickly they could apply the concepts and techniques.  Sifu Michael Banaag was there to help and afterward he, Ken and I had a meeting to discuss the changes in teaching in the DeMile Defensive Tacics method of WCD.  We agreed in  creating a solid core based on the most effective  applied street concepts and then surrounding them with  MMA training methods, but staying away from the cage fighting mentality.  Todays students do not have the time to  commit to long term training, yet want the best results for the time they put in.  We also reviewed the possibilities of certifying  instructors from other systems in some of the  trapping  principles.  Of course, nothing can replace training in the core concepts of WCD and the solid offensive/defensive skills it creates.
